Car production in the UK is showing encouraging signs of an upturn in fortunes according to first quarter figures. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) recently announced that 443,581 cars rolled off UK production lines during the first three months of the year, a rate of one every 16 seconds. The figure represents a 10.3% increase on last year and the UK motor industry’s most productive first quarter since 2004.
